Welcome to our little slice of paradise where time slows and the simple pleasures are easily found. With a Valley on one side, mountains behind and a sprawling panorama of the ocean in front, nature engulfs and the magical essence of Madeira’s West Coast shines in its full glory.

We acquired this property in 2018 and have since been the stewards of the original Quinta that was built in the 1940’s, the established gardens and the apple orchard, which the Yurt sits atop.

The particular location of the Yurt had always been a spot we envisioned some type of living structure, then in 2025 the chance to add this traditional Mongolian Yurt presented itself.

We went to work getting the intricate structure set up, building the stone path and bamboo deck and renovating the detached kitchen and bathroom just a short walk away.

There is a feeling unto itself staying in a Yurt. A portal of sorts that provides a connection to nature akin to Camping, but with all the unique and elevated comforts a Yurt provides. Coffee on the deck in the morning, fires inside at night with a delicious bottle of Portuguese wine, quiet afternoons reading on the couch - it all just really works.

We are ideally located in the charming village of Prazares which has delicious restaurants, traditional Poncha Bars, coffee shops, great local hikes and one of the best Farmers Markets on the island every Sunday morning.

The beautiful coastal villages of Jardim Do Mar, Paul Do Mar and Calheta are all an equal 10 minutes away with incredible food options and all the ocean activities you could want in the Gin clear, azure Ocean. Funchal and the North Coast are an equal 40 minutes away, so this really is an epic base location to get out and explore the Island.
